guilt

I don't have much time because I have stuff that needs to get done.  And this week my daily nap is essential so I have to squeeze the to do list into the morning.

I have been feeling the mom guilt so much these past couple of weeks.  The things I want to do, the things I should do, the things I haven't done.  It's so easy to get bogged down with all of that.  And that's where I am right now.  Bogged down, feeling guilty for not being good enough.  Then one of the kids says one of those things kids say and I feel even worse.  No, they probably don't think I am the meanest mom ever, they are just venting frustration.  But to a mama who is feeling like a lousy mom, those words go deep.

You just described exactly how I was feeling last week. We all have those weeks/months/whatever. I think they exist to remind us that we are needed and that we need to try harder. At the end of last week, someone told me a simple prayer they repeat whenever they feel guilt, worry, or the urge to complain, "Lord, help me to serve without counting the cost.". I've been saying all weekend, and it is rapidly opening my eyes. You are a GREAT MAMA and don't let anyone, including YOU, tell you any differently!

So funny to just discover your blog and feel like I'm reading mine. I guess it just goes to show that blogs like this are the modern day version of sitting on your friend's couch and crying into your coffee, getting a there-there pat, a good laugh and walking away feeling like you're not all that bad after all! Or at least not alone!
